Raise your hand if you walk for exercise every day.  If you do, what keeps you walking?  As I work at my desk, I look out my window and see people walking at all hours of the day and evening.  We have some joggers too.  Research points to why people walk more and the neighborhood characteristics that help.  Safety, lighting and beautiful things to look at are a few components that encourage physical activity.  Walking paths, parks, and access to facilities also impact activity level.  Did you ever have your dog stare into your eyes when you miss the regular walking time?  Yes, having a dog could get you up and move too!  Walking doesn't require much equipment, just a good pair of shoes and a coat depending on the weather.  Check out Dr. Mike Evans 23 1/2 hr. video for all of the health benefits of walking for 30 minutes every day.  Finish your "to do" list during the other 23 1/2 hrs.
